Leveling up into a better YOU - 8 Principles to live by!
Leveling up may be implied in various fields of life. From personal development to career building, your social life, or in isolation, leveling up generally means focusing on becoming a better version of yourself in every walk of life.
8 PRINCIPLES OF LEVELING UP
In today's modern world women carry the baggage of so many expectations which shatters their own idea of what being a woman means to them. For centuries, societies have labeled women and pressured them into thinking or behaving as a weak and inferior gender. If they embrace their femininity "she’s too girlish!" and if they show an edge, those women are considered bitter and disrespectful.
Although movement after movement has been made towards getting women their rights and deserving status, it is still confusing to understand whether becoming a woman of dignity and respect means embracing your femininity or falling for the societal pressure of having an inclination towards being more like a man and ending up becoming a tom-boy to value yourself as a being.
Well, the following eight principles are going to help you reinvent yourself into a more graceful, upright, and noblewoman. Not what every man desires but what you dream to become as a woman.
- REFLECT AND REPAIR
We often unconsciously start behaving in a way that is easily acceptable by society, pushing down our values, morals, and boundaries. However, a high-class woman would not compromise on her principles. This creates a war zone inside herself which is constantly fighting between two motifs.
One demands to go on the path that you are already walking- the comfortable and easy road which pleases everybody and the other side holds you accountable for not being courageous enough to take a stand and set yourself up to chase your dreams. Barbara De Angilas, An American Author and relationship consultant says,
“Women need real moments of solitude and self-reflection to balance out how much of ourselves we give away”
Take a pen and a copy. Write down your thoughts, feelings, needs, and desires. Write what you think is stopping you from starting your journey. Every little detail is important. Morning and evening routines, daily rituals, thoughts about yourself, etc. Analyze what are your hindrances, is it about a lack of resources, pessimism, toxic relationships, and self-deprecating thoughts, or what? Figure a decent way out. If you are not going to do this for yourself nobody else is gonna do this for you. Because after all, people only treat you the way you treat yourself.
2. PLANNING AND EXECUTING
Once you know where you are to head and the possible obstacles your way be sure to immediately start implementing. A plan without execution is nothing but a mere thought. Your idea only stands out when it's executed well. Once you figure out which location you are directed to, the journey begins. You can compromise for your destination but never on your destination.
Take one step then another and another. Don’t be overwhelmed with giants of information out there. Rather learn how to narrow down things. Gain knowledge of that particular field and keep on climbing the ladder, one step at a time.
3. SELF-DRIVEN AND COMMITTED
A high-class woman would not waste time chasing amateur things in life. She has talent. She likes to spend time working on her hobbies and interests. She’s ambitious and a hard worker to the core. Someone who never compromises on the quality of her work.
Now don’t think that they are superhumans who never had their days. Yes, even they can procrastinate and be lazy at times but that's not always the case. Such a woman would like to bring work to the table rather than excuses. Of Course, life can occur to anybody at any moment but under only extreme circumstances they miss out.
4. BALANCE
She is someone who knows way too well how to balance the seesaw of her professional life and family. Neglecting any of the two would cost anyone a great deal in life. Indeed, it is very hard for mothers, stay-at-home moms who work remotely, and any other woman who looks after her family alongside working.
In such a scenario, finding support is essential. Not being shy about asking other family members to get involved. Mothers are strong human beings who run babies and businesses. The famous author and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar quotes
“Being successful means having a balance of success stories across the many areas of your life. You can’t truly be considered successful in your business life if your home life is in shambles”
5. KIND AND COMPASSIONATE
Women are usually considered the epitome of sentiments. They feel more and are more sensitive. To me, this sensitivity is the most unique factor of being feminine. A kind and compassionate heart would always be present in the moment. She’s not lost in her worries. She’s not someone who pities herself and is on the verge of crying at all times.
She’s composed and full of herself. Someone who has her cup full can offer to others as well. Kindness adds beauty to everything. Uttering a few kind words to console somebody, pouring a cup of coffee, and listening to someone. These sweet little gestures can create a powerful impact on others. People get amazed by your ethics and etiquette. How you make time for them and in return they regard you as someone who's highly valuable.
6. ORGANISED AND PRESENTABLE
Women are generally considered to be more neat and organized. Though this might not be the case with everyone at least with self appearance there’s no dissent. Every woman likes to dress up and decorate her home. But what would a high-class woman do?
Dress event-appropriate. Not too short and not too much.
Carries herself gracefully. Avoid wearing uncomfortable dresses.
She may have a particular taste.
Buy nice or buy twice- she would always prefer a high-quality wardrobe over piles of weary shirts and pants.
The most put-together woman. Someone who never leaves her vanity messy before leaving for an event. She aces in being on time and not coming back to a messy home.
She can add more unique pieces to her home which speak for her style.
She keeps her home tidy almost all the time.
7. OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT PEOPLE SAY
“If you live for people's acceptance, you'll die from their rejection”
-Lecrae
A high-class woman certainly knows her worth. She’s not going to disturb her peace of mind because of what others say about her. At times people may hurt us because of the expectations we had from them or they just proved to be worthless. William Shakespeare says:
“Expectations are the root of all heartache”
The less you expect, the better your life will be. It’s normal to expect from people you love. We can’t act like robots but instead of falling into this pit rather be headstrong. People can have their reasons. Forgiving and moving on will give you tranquillity in life
8. SENSIBLE AND HUMOROUS
Humor always adds light to the dimmest of situations. However, knowing when to crack a joke and when to show seriousness is what only sensible women can do. The true women of the class would act appropriately under all given situations. She's not going to indulge in useless arguments. She does not deal with words, rather she takes action. Humor adds a spark to your personality and makes you a pleasant person.
Takeaway
Change doesn't happen overnight. Like it took time into building those bad habits, similarly, it’ll take pure dedication and the required time to shatter them to build new and better ones. It’s never too late to start over. Take yourself seriously and be THAT woman who has it all. Remember to go slow but go consistently. You are not defined by what you do but by what you do not do.
Natasha never compromises on the quality of her work. She never tells a lie. She’s never late and the list goes on. Just stop doing what you think you are not and things will start falling into place.
By combining all the principles and implementing them into your daily life you will see a new you in just a matter of days. Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom - Aristotle
